Escorts for Oversized Transport must attend a refresher training every five years after obtaining their escort status. You may apply for the refresher training up to 18 months before your certificate expires. The focus of the training is on refreshing knowledge and becoming familiar with new regulations and updates.
Escorts for Oversized Transport who obtained their competence certificate before 8 March 2018 must complete their first refresher training no later than 8 March 2023. If you did not attend the refresher training by this deadline, you must repeat the full initial training programme.
The training is carried out in one day, lasts 8 teaching hours, and is divided into theoretical training (6 hours) and practical training (2 hours).
The exam is held separately on another date.

The renewal exam for the Escort for Oversized Transport certificate includes only the theoretical knowledge test. The exam sheet, just like in the initial certification, consists of question sections with 2 to 10 sub-questions. Each sub-question is worth one point. Candidates answer each question with YES or NO.
A candidate passes the theoretical exam if they achieve at least 70% of the total points. The theoretical test lasts 60 minutes.
Information about successfully passing the exam after completing the refresher training is entered into the official certificate registry, with the new validity starting from the expiration date of the previous certificate.
The price of the training is set with the approval of the Ministry of Infrastructure.
